Yorkshire born and educated, I left Bamsley College of Art after three years study to take a two year National Diploma Course in Design at Leicester College of Art and Technology.

In the early 70s, I opened and ran my own boutique in Nottingham. However, over-powered by my love of animals, I gave up the world of fashion to devote all my time to helping my husband at our zoological gardens in Nottingham; where for five years I enjoyed the position as Director/Curator specialising in felines. Tiger, Lion, Puma, Leopard, Ocelot, Margay, Scottish wildcat etc. yes, my artwork does mainly revolve around 'CATS'.

Unfortunately, due to redevelopment, the lease on the 17-acre site was terminated and sadly the zoo animals were distributed to other zoos around the country. Shortly after the zoo closed and heart-broken at the loss of my zoo family, I - along with my four children - joined friends in Kent. Then, in order to fill the enormous void left by the absence of my wild animal friends, I started to paint the animals that I loved but could not keep.

I am currently Director and Curator of Beaver Zoological Gardens & Reptile Rescue Ltd in Tatsfield Kent, where amongst my charges up until September 2006 was "Big Boy" the Giant Alligator, star of the James Bond 007 films and many other unwanted and abused Reptiles and Beaver, Deer, Owls, Coatis, Aquatics and birds. We are featured many times a year on Animal Hospital, Pet Rescue, and other Animal Rescue TV programmes.

My paintings have gone to Ireland, Isle of Man, Australia, Arabia and to a Bull Breeder in the United States and are also on exhibition in Spain. I completed an artist's research and training course in Zimbabwe, Africa and have also climbed the temples of Belize in my quest for inspiration and new subjects to paint. I would love to return to Africa but for the moment I will content myself with the wild life at Marwell.
